Light Up Main Street MGM Initiative
Main Street Montgomery is proud to launch the Light Up Main Street MGM Initiative, a project designed to enhance lighting in key areas of our downtown district. With $25,000 in funding secured through a grant from Main Street Alabama, this initiative will bring string lights and uniform lighted A-frame signs to corridors throughout the Main Street Montgomery District.
The goal is to create a more inviting, walkable, and vibrant environment for residents, visitors, and businesses alike—especially during evening hours.
Initial focus areas include:
- Lower Dexter Avenue
- Court Street
- Lee Street
- Monroe Street
- Montgomery Street
- Jefferson Street
Update: Lights Are Going Up on S. Court Street!
We’re excited to share that the first lights have officially been installed on South Court Street! This marks the beginning of visible progress for the initiative, and the transformation is already bringing a warm, welcoming glow to the area.
More installations are on the way as we continue working to brighten up downtown Montgomery—one street at a time.
