PAWty in the Park Comes to Downtown Montgomery September 12

Main Street Montgomery presents PAWty in the Park on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Downtown Montgomery. This free community event invites dogs and their humans to spend a Saturday downtown enjoying pet-friendly activities, local businesses, food, contests, adoption opportunities and plenty of ways to cool off.
A New Reason to Spend Saturday in Downtown Montgomery
PAWty in the Park is about more than having a fun day with our four-legged friends.
Main Street Montgomery created the event as another way to bring people downtown on the weekend, activate our public spaces and introduce—or reintroduce—residents to everything Downtown Montgomery has to offer.
The park is an important downtown public space, and we want people to use it.
“Great downtowns need great spaces, but those spaces also need people,” said Ashley Jernigan, Executive Director of Main Street Montgomery. “PAWty in the Park gives families a fun reason to spend a Saturday downtown, experience the park in a new way and hopefully discover a restaurant or business they haven’t visited before. Sometimes reimagining a space starts simply by giving people a reason to come back to it.”
What to Expect at PAWty in the Park
Bring your pup and plan to stay awhile. PAWty in the Park will feature a variety of activities and experiences for both dogs and their humans, including:
- Adoption Alley featuring adoptable pets and local animal organizations
- Yappy Hour + Pup Pool Party
- Cooling and hydration stations for pups
- Dog contests and prizes
- Pet and owner photo opportunities
- Dog treats and giveaways
- Food and drinks for humans
- Pet-friendly vendors and activities
- Participating Downtown Montgomery businesses
- And more PAWty surprises

The PAWty doesn’t stop at the park.
Main Street Montgomery is working with Downtown Montgomery restaurants, retailers and businesses to create special offers and experiences throughout the district.
Attendees will be encouraged to explore downtown before, during and after PAWty in the Park—whether that means grabbing breakfast before the event, enjoying a PAWty-themed special, shopping at a downtown business or keeping the fun going after 2 p.m.
It’s all part of Main Street Montgomery’s mission to build a vibrant, welcoming and economically strong downtown by creating more reasons for residents and visitors to experience Downtown Montgomery beyond the traditional workweek.
